7. Inner Monster
Help your child give shape to what’s hard to say.
~ Revealing What’s Inside ~
This Innerscape invites children to imagine and draw their own “inner monster”, a creative way to express big or difficult feelings that might be hard to put into words. Instead of showing the monster in the story, MarlaGran leaves it to the child’s imagination. This gives space for personal meaning and helps kids bring out emotions like fear, anger, or frustration in a safe, playful way. By drawing the monster, children can begin to understand and release strong feelings, giving shape to what’s often unspoken.
~ Reflection Tip ~
Gently ask your child to tell you about their monster, what it looks like, what its power is, what it feels, or what it needs. Their drawing may reveal emotions they’re carrying and give you a way to meet them with curiosity instead of fear.
